You can export any estimate to Construction Estimator version 5.5 or greater. Just press the EXPORT button. A file name is not necessary. The export estimate is saved as a MEMO Pad text file. After you Hot Sync your palm, open the Memo Pad and copy the export estimate to the clipboard of a word processor and paste the estimate file into the word processor. Now save this file out as a TEXT file, with the extension .TXT. You will be able to recognize the export file in the Memo pad, because it will be only numbers. Don't add or change these numbers, it will change the estimate. After you import the estimate that was created on the Palm, into Construction Estimator the estimate totals will not EXACTLY match. This is due to rounding off of quantity numbers (4.5 sheets vs 5 sheets) estimates will vary a little bit. If you notice a huge difference in the estimates, check to make sure that the costs are the same for each program. For example, you might have a cost per gallon value instead of a cost per square foot. Paint is a cost per gallon for the materials and a cost per sq. Ft. For labor Wood siding is a cost per sheet for materials and a cost per sq. Ft. For labor. Wood siding other is a cost per foot for materials and a cost per sq. Ft. For labor. Wood floors is a cost per sheet for materials and a cost per sq. Ft. For labor.
