1981 Construction Estimator was ported over to the MS-DOS platform, many new features were added and the program was upgraded. 1992 Construction Estimator was converted into a Windows program with many extra features. 1995 EZ-Legal Software has been distributing Construction Estimator as one of it's titles and has nationwide distributions in Office Max, Office Depot, Barns and Knobles, Frys and some CompUSA stores. EZ-Legal continues to distribute this program.

MICOM Software has been developing software since 1979. MICOM's goal is to provide easy to use software at reasonable prices. Many software program are too complicated with too may bells and whistles. Many construction estimating program are so complex and difficult to use that the time and effort to learn how to use the program is not worth it. The first program developed was for the Atari ST computer. Construction Estimator version 1. Was written in C and was available through many public domain companies.
